Allison is an ACPE Certified Educator Candidate (CEC) who wholeheartedly believes in transformative learning and the provision of spiritual care that is empathetic, empowering, and equitable. She finds meaning in advocating for and companioning with others. Allison’s research interests are inclusive of trauma-informed theology, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and the role of hope in patients diagnosed with Huntington’s Disease. Allison serves as the outpatient chaplain for the Duke Neurology Clinic, specializing in journeying alongside those with Huntington’s Disease and Parkinson’s Disease, and currently supports inpatient care within Duke University Hospital. Allison completed her Clinical Pastoral Education Residency at Duke and earned her Doctor of Education from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. She is an ordained minister, endorsed through the African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church, and a Board Certified Chaplain through the Association of Professional Chaplains.
